Boz Scaggsis an American singer, songwriter, and guitarist who began his solo career in 1969 after working with Steve Miller. He rose to fame with his 1976 album Silk Degrees, which reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and featured hits like Lido Shuffle and Lowdown. He followed with platinum albumsDown Two Then LeftandMiddle Man, producing singles including Breakdown Dead Ahead and Jojo. After a brief hiatus in the 1980s, Scaggs returned in 1988 and has continued recording and touring, with his latest album,Out of the Blues, released in 2018.Scaggs also played a key role in forming Toto, bringing together musicians including David Paich, David Hungate, and Jeff Porcaro during the making ofSilk Degrees. Their collaboration helped launch the band, whose members have continued working with Scaggs over the years.
