Pine Island Preserve Volunteer TAG-ALONG Day

Join the stewardship team for a day in the field! We will be primarily focused on treating young invasive trees, such as melaleuca and earleaf acacia, in a pine flatwoods. We may also do other general land management activities like fence repair and monitoring past restoration plantings. This is a lowkey, bring-your-own-lunch event, limited to the first four sign ups. Transportation/carpooling from Osprey is available. About Tag Along Days : Volunteers should dress for outdoor work and are required to wear closed-toe shoes and long pants. They should bring water and personal supplies for themselves. Typically, only primitive bathrooms are available (the woods). Big Waters staff will join you for all work, to provide instruction and support. Staff will supply all necessary tools, including gloves. Please note that Tag Along Days last longer than Volunteer and Picnic events, and may be more strenuous. Questions? Email landprotection@bwlt.org .
